I think my favourite things about archives
is how they can take you back.
They take you back to a moment in time that you can remember what existed around it; emotion, actions, smells, whether.
Photographic archives are concrete
proof we existed and lived.
Birthday's are one of my favourites.
It's events that marks time. It brings you back to recap on a whole year or years and to think how far/little we've come. Seeing birthday snaps from years back also allows you to appreciate those times, miss them, and look to see how much we've all grown up.
Some birthdays don't even have pictures, some only have blurred memories, but to what was captured, i'm grateful to have.
