This multi-talented super babe only last year moved to Sydney and has taken it head on.
With working for a dope interior design company and collaborating with art on a fair few levels, she's been killing it.
With Kelly Hammond's and her exhibition coming up this week she's got plenty on her plate.
I sat down and found out what's been going on, how her dope ass job has been treating her and tried to get the scoop on what to expect at the exhibition.
Hannah: Hey Holly, How are you? I've herd you've been super dooper busy. What's been going on?Holly: Hey Han, I'm really well. Life's been pretty hectic but it's good - I like being busy. I've been working full time and making art for what feels like eternity. Right now, my last work is at the framer and I'm having a huge glass of red to celebrate.Hannah: That's great, you sound like your on top of it thought. So tell us a bit more about what you do. I understand your working for Coco Republic (as an interior designer) but your art has been taking off, How has it been working for them?Holly: I do a little bit of everything. I hate having to describe what I do or how I want my career to pan out. I like taking every day and every opportunity as it comes I'm crazy about the design industry as a whole, my main passion being interiors and art. After moving to Sydney last year to pursue my creative passions, I was lucky enough to land a position at Coco Republic as an interior design assistant. This is the most fantastic job, the experience of being out in the field is invaluable. It also has the flexibility of allowing me to have my art on the side. I work with a fantastic team, they are all so passionate and the loveliest people.Hannah: That's incredible I'm glad that your fulfilling and learning since moving from the Gold Coast, to see people moving away to fulfil their dreams are incredible. Has it been hard to juggle life with the new exhibition only around the corner? Tell us a bit about it and how has been working with Kelly Hammond.
Holly: There's been some serious late nights and an unhealthy amount of instant coffee consumed these past few months. There's never enough hours in the day to do what I want to do. My day usually consists of getting up, working anywhere between 8am-7pm Monday-Friday, checking out other exhibitions after work, shooting with Kel on the weekends and then every spare minute is spent on creating. I've been holding off on the partying and alcohol so I'm feeling healthy! I love having side projects and things on the go, it keeps life interesting. I get bored easily.Hannah: Wow theres no dull moment amongst you ladies! When it comes to your art and Kelly's, what mediums are you working with? And can you give us a sneaky insight into what to expect?Holly: This exhibition is a culmination of Kelly and my ideas. It's a chance for us to break free of creative constraints we are bound to by our jobs. It's creating for ourselves, getting back to the enjoyment of it. I'm working with oil and charcoal currently but I guess I'm still finding my "thing". I'm also pretty partial so water colour and you'll find numerous fine liner pens scattered throughout my room. I'd love to go to art school again when I'm financially able... There are so many mediums I love experimenting with. Sneak peeks hey... Check out my Instagram @holbrown for a little glimpse into what to expect on Friday. We have the guys from Youeni agency on board and they've released some teaser clips of our shoots. They've also put together a short film to be played on the night.
Hannah: We can't wait! Everything sounds incredible and you have so many insane things happening. To see you supporting and working with your creative juices and putting them to good use!Hannah: It should be an exciting night! It will be interesting to see the collaboration between two great creative minds. When and where is the exhibition all going down?Holly: China Heights Gallery in Forster St in Surry Hills. 6pm sharp. Be there. Followed by Tio's and some sneaky tequila shots to celebrate my birthday!
